Events

NYSCHSA offers technical programs that benefit all industry professionals through conferences, grassroots campaign and annual meetings. Education programs include The Practicing Institute of Engineering (PIE) approved sessions offering up to 12 credits annually. The annual events are:

  • The Winter Conference features a trade show, drawing over 70 vendors from across the state and nation to Saratoga for a three-day show offering 4-6 PIE approved educational sessions. This conference embarks the "passing of the gavel", induction of the new association president and offers time for networking between affiliates and county officials.

  • The legislative advocacy program (also known as Local Roads Are Essential) is a joint event with the New York State Town Highway Superintendents Association which takes place annually in March.

  • Each June, industry professionals gather in Ithaca, during the Cornell Local Roads Highway Program, for a business meeting and luncheon. A PIE approved professional development technical session is offered during this meeting as well. This event provides networking opportunities between our Association, Cornell Local Roads Program, The New York State Town Highway Superintendents Association and association past presidents, affiliates alike.

  • The annual Summer Conference brings both county officials and industry professionals together to offer the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and share their expertise on improving the local highway and bridge infrastructure across the State. The summer program offers up to four PIE approved education sessions and plenty of time to reunite with colleagues on important issues affecting the State’s infrastructure.

The Association is also active in and supports several events sponsored by peer organizations in New York.

The events calendar on the home page includes both NYSCHSA events as well as those sponsored by other organizations.
